    Project Description :

    The design of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for the renovation and addition to the existing worship center to create an additional 15,000 + square feet of space.  The addition included a multi-purpose social hall, kosher kitchen, learning center, administrative spaces as well as converting two smaller original social halls into classrooms.  Recently, the building earned a Merit Award by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors for the 2011 Fairfax County Exceptional Design Awards.

    The design of the mechanical, fire protection systems for a new building addition and the renovation of over 25,000 square feet of existing building systems. The work included the design for new rooftop units, upgrade of the fresh air delivery system, new HVAC control system, electrical power service upgrade, lighting, power, fire detection system, fire alarm system as well as the design for a new fire pump.

    Design of the mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems for a new structure with a sanctuary, administration area, youth and adult assembly areas, pre-school, library, orchestra room and classroom building.  The facility has a 3,000 person capacity worship area and provisions for future expansion.

    The design of a retrofit chilled water, hot water and air handling system to replace the existing systems in the remainder part of the church facility which consists of two buildings.  roject included the centralization of the mechanical equipment to connect to each building and the upgrade of incoming electrical service and distribution.

    Project Description :

    The church’s existing system was unable to maintain proper humidity and temperature throughout and was not capable of delivering adequate fresh air to the sanctuary.  Currently, the church enjoys the comfort of modern systems with nearly no outwardly appearance of ductwork or diffusers.  PEG was commissioned to modernize the 19th century HVAC system without affecting the historical “charm” of the church, which was accomplished.
